Before each group meeting, one student will be required to write a summary on this page. The summary should be written in properly organized paragraphs, using your own words of course. That student will also be required to post two questions in the comments section of this page. The questions should both encouraged deep thinking and allow for multiple possible answers. Use the Q Chart to help formulate a good, thought-provoking question.
At the group discussion, he/she will summarize the reading and lead a discussion of the passages read.

What did you think of the section we just read?
Are you enjoying the book so far?
What will happen next?
Once the group is finished discussing the text, the other students must log onto our wiki and answer the questions posted by the Discussion Director. During this time, the Discussion Director can edit and revise his/her summary or start reading the next section of the book. The Discussion Director is expected to provide effective feedback to each answer once they are posted.

Chapters 1-5: Discussion Director - Shania
Between the chapters 1-5 the girls are at there Aunt Patty house and they sat on the roof top look at the sunrise every moring.There Aunt Patty has no kids so she buys all the candy and clothes for the two girls and, some times the girls do not like the clothes but they did not what to hurt their Aunt Patty feelings, so they don't tell her and she does not even ask the girls so they don't bother with it.The girls are at their Aunt Patty's house because their mother can not belive that one of her kids has died and, she can not control her self and the girls also the house the mother send the girls to the Aunt Patty house just for a now till the mom gets better.
But, the girls did not like their Aunt Patty's house because, she had a lot of rules, like ''no eating anywhere beside the kitchen'' also she said ''no buts on the bed after the bed has been made up'' and the girls did not like the rules.The Aunt Patty thinks she has control over the girls she does, but she push it over the limit. She yell at the girls if their don't follow the rules of the house.They try to help around the house and they are thinking she will change some rules.
The girls like to go on the roof and look at the sunrise and just relax and the Aunt Patty said ''don't look down or you might die'' and the little sister said I think this is true.The girls think something bad is going happen to them and more closer they get the more worried they get the neighbour, said ''don't worry the fire fight are coming to get you'' the girls were still worried because there are on the roof and it is frighten.They got the girls down and the Aunt and the girls, had a talk.There Aunt is trying to treat the girls like their mother, but she is not doing the same things as the mother, like the Aunt says she does not have time to read the girls a bed time story and the girls don't like that because their mother always use to read a bed time story but their Aunt Patty does not read them a book.There Aunt Patty try her best to be a good substitute mother but it did not work out well they still miss their mother. Chapters 6-10: Discussion Director - Cindy
Between chapters 6-10 the girls were still at aunt patty's house and sitting on top of the roof and aunt patty trying to get them down. When they got down they meet Elizabeth Fingers,"but people call her Liz"(p.38) and she was really nice to the girls,telling them about how they have to go to Sunday school. They had a flash back of when they were back home and their mom was still with them. It showed how their mom "Noreen" and aunt patty was fighting about how aunt patty should keep the kids for now and how their mom wasn't responsible of taking care of the kids.
They had to follow Liz because she was showing her a place and when they followed her to a hillside,"Liz stepped in and dropped out of sight"(p.54). When they feel into a hole Willa Jo had thought of what,"aunt patty's voice echoing 'Mole rats.' They meet three boys and they were digging a hole to get out they had a bucket to help them dig the way out "Little sister loved that it was dirt"(p.58). Liz said that her "Dad used the dirt to make Mom a raised garden so she doesn't have to kneel to weed"(p.58).Uncle hob would never like digging"it might run in our family"(p.60). Willa Jo thought that it might run in Liz's family. since there dad would dig and she would dig.
They meet a new friend name Cynthia. And sometimes"Mrs. Wainwright would bring her daughter over to play tomorrow afternoon"(p.78). The next day Cynthia came over and she "was not wearing camp shorts and leather sandals"(p.79). Willa Jo and Cynthia was yelling at each other about how aunt patty is so nice to them and that if she gets tired she would sent them to a county home. And cynthia called Little Sister dumb. Aunt patty was looking at them and she told Willa Jo to say sorry to Cynthia but she didn't want to because it wasn't her fault that they got into a fight. After that they had stopped fighting and they were bored. They were outside and they had nothing to do. Little sister had an idea from a small red ball and Willa Jo decided to play Jacks. So Little sister got the jacks and Cynthia had to sit on the ground so she took not of aunt patty's lawn and took one of her cushion. And dropped it on the floor.
They were talking about how Cynthia called Little sister dumb. Cynthia's mom came out and she was looking at Cynthia wasn't being nice to them. Aunt patty was there and "when she closed that door,it looked like that door was closed forever"(p.88).
Chapters 11-15 Discussion Director - Marko
Between chapters 11-15 aunt Patty thought it was a good idea to send the girls to bible school. The girls did not want to go but did not say anything. When the got there the teacher Miss, Pettibone was not nice. The girls thought she was nice at first but she was not. Aunt Patty suggested to Miss, Pettibone to hang little sister by her lag to make her talk but it did not work. The girls went out side to see the sun rise as always it was really hot and Miss, Pettibone wanted the girls to come in, ''I don't know why you girls insist on getting a sunstroke when it is my turn toe the teacher. Im calling your mothers right now to let them know you misbehaved.'' when really she did not know the reason why there are sitting out there.
Chapters 16-20 Discussion Director- Carissa
From chapters 16-20 Willa Jo used to miss how her Dad used to work in the mine from early morning till supper time. But when Baby was a few months old, their Dad was looking for A job. Willa Jo used to miss how Mom spend time with Little Sister and Willa Jo and now it seems like when their mother is coming back to them, their dad just left. There mom missed their dad more than Willa Jo and Little Sister.
Aunt Patty came to stay for a little bit. Aunt Patty tried to convince to come move closer to her, but their mom refused. Aunt Patty had a talk."Patty, i know you want to help me,"said Noreen.
"If only you would let me,"Aunt Patty said."You're so stubborn."
"Im not the only one," Their mom said like she was joking
"Noreen, you could be down the road from me-"
"That's enough, Patty," Noreen said. " We can't afford to move"
They argued and argued until they stopped.
Baby would start walking once Willa Jo and Little sister comes home playing with the pots and pans.
Milly came over to show Willa Jo the small carnival. Noreen and Milly went to look at a few things than Willa Jo and Little Sister convinced them to go to the rides. Baby drank out all of her water and juice that they were looking for water cause Baby was giving a fuss. A guy offered to give them water they gave Baby to drink it. When Noreen,Willa Jo and Little sister got home they went to take a bath before bedtime. In the middle of the night Willa Jo woke up to the sound of Baby crying. When it was so bad Noreen told Willa Jo to go get Milly to drop Baby to the doctor. When Willa Jo came back to her mom, her mom said "Never mind tell Milly Baby is ok"
When Willa Jo went back to sleep, she woke up a few hours later. When Milly came Mom told Milly everything on how Baby died and she is in heaven now.
After a few weeks Noreen begin painting Baby going of to heaven with little wings. After that Little sister stopped talking.Aunt Patty took us from mom to her house. They went on the roof to just watch the sun and then Uncle Hob came on top to have a picnic.
